Case-studies: Showcasing examples of humanities/social sciences research projects with computational/digital element
IsiNdebele is one of the official languages of South Africa which has a scarcity of resources and terminology for special purposes. This talk aims to show that the terminology of this language can also be developed, through Semi-automatic term extraction.
She is a Senior Lecturer, and the head of isiNdebele section at the University of South Africa. Her interest is in corpus linguistics. My PhD research title was on the use of corpora in the compilation of a specialized English-IsiNdebele glossary of medical terms. She has fallen in love with the WordSmith Tools.
